I went to College at Clarion University where I studied math education. I really enjoyed teaching Calculus and Statistics, but in recent years, we haven’t been offering as many sections of the advanced math courses. I was teaching a computer programming elective, so when there was an opening in the Computer Programming position in 2022, I took it.
I am so glad I did because it pushed me to go so much deeper in my understanding of computer programming. I am constantly reading books about programming or watching YouTube videos for inspiration for a project to do in class. I am by no means an expert in computer programming, but I am always excited to learn new things, and to try to bring my students along as we explore new topics.
Outside of school I am a father of 3 kids, Elinor, Maggie, and Henry. They keep me pretty busy and they make sure I know all the words to every Trolls song. I am also the swim coach for the Erie High Swim team, which I have coached since we became Erie High. Before that, I coached for Strong Vincent High School.
