Today I spend the first half of my day exploring https://neal.fun/infinite-craft/ and my second half getting a little familiar with Godot.
Infinite Craft
Infinite Craft is a self-generating game in your web browser. You start off with fire, water, earth, and wind and you can drag and drop them together to make more discoveries such as fire and earth to make a volcano. As you spend more time you can tend to find some pretty insane elements, such as works of fiction like hobbit or werewolf or real things like Uranus and Train. This website uses an AI to generate what the next element will be and if you find a brand new discovery that no one else has it’ll let you know. I encourage you to check out this website at https://neal.fun/infinite-craft/ I had a lot of fun and I think you will too!
Godot
Today I also started familiarizing myself with Godot! Godot is a game engine like unity or unreal engine, However I prefer Godot over unity (which I’m already familiar with) because its completely open-source and lately the community has been getting bigger and bigger. I’m learning the differences such as Godot already having a lot of the systems you would need to build a game, such as player movement, although you could still make your own and you can customize what they already have. I downloaded the program onto my laptop and I’m learning how to work with nodes and such. Nodes seem to just be objects. I wanna start off with making a simple platformer with a few levels to get really familiar with the program before i create my own personal project.
